HUSAM CHAYA
The Artist – Husam Chaya
Husam Chaya is a Canadian sculptor born in Lebanon, based in Montréal. His monumental public artworks explore the dialogue between form, memory, and cultural identity across continents. With an international practice spanning Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, Chaya has established himself as a leading voice in contemporary public sculpture.
Trained in fine arts and later completing an MBA in International Art Commerce in Paris, Chaya combines artistic mastery with a deep understanding of cultural strategy and public space. His sculptures — executed in marble, stainless steel, and architectural materials — are conceived as spatial experiences that transform civic environments into places of reflection and encounter.
Among his notable works is Echo, exhibited in Moscow’s International Business Center, and Musical Rhythm, a monumental marble sculpture installed on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. His sculpture installed at the French Embassy in Beirut stands within a setting that embodies cultural dialogue and diplomatic heritage, reflecting a lasting artistic exchange between France and Lebanon.
Chaya’s practice is defined by movement, abstraction, and architectural integration. His forms balance organic curvature with structural precision, creating sculptural landmarks that anchor public squares, cultural institutions, and diplomatic spaces. Each work is conceived not merely as an object, but as a cultural presence — a permanent gesture within the urban landscape.
Through Chaya Art Studio in Montréal, he continues to develop large-scale public art commissions, museum exhibitions, and international collaborations, reinforcing his position as a sculptor whose work transcends geography while remaining rooted in material excellence and conceptual depth.
