Sketching the Form

Every sculpture begins with a series of sketches that explore the first ideas of movement, balance, and structure. These drawings allow the form to evolve freely, testing different proportions and spatial relationships. Through sketching, the initial concept becomes clearer before moving into the physical process of sculpting in clay.

Sculpting with Clay

Clay is often the first step in developing a sculpture. Working directly with the material allows forms to emerge through an intuitive and physical process of building, carving, and refining. These clay studies serve as exploratory models where proportions, balance, and movement are tested. From these initial experiments, the form gradually evolves before being translated into more permanent materials such as stone or metal.
